Eaton Corporation Campus Controller in Tczew, Poland

Eaton’s Vehicle Group Product Portfolio includes manual and automated truck transmissions and clutches, hybrid powertrain systems, drivetrain, suspension, wheel-end and safety systems, anti-lock braking as well as air, transmission, and fuel management controls, automotive fluid connectors, engine air management systems, engine valves and lifters and limited-slip and locking differentials.

We are currently looking for a Campus Controller to join our team in Tczew.

The Campus Controller provides technical competency to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements (i.e. SOX) and US GAAP. This individual is responsible for administrative process improvements within the plant, creates and implements procedures to improve the internal control environment, streamlined efforts and provide increased transparency of financial results.

What you’ll do:

As a Campus Controller, you will be a key member of the plant leadership team and region/division finance team. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and functionally to the finance function.

This role is instrumental to manage financial performance of Tczew production plant including analysis of forecasts and actual performance, business drivers, and operational metrics.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate plant profit plans, strategic plans, monthly forecasts, goals & objectives, financial reconciliations, reports and analysis for plant management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations

  • Advice and counsel plant manager on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions and decisions

  • Manage, analyze, evaluate and interpret plant financial forecasts and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavorable variances

  • Review, analyze and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency and transparency

  • Interpret, implement and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements

  • Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to plant, region/division, and corporate management and cost control

  • Ownership of account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of plant general ledger and its supporting sub-systems

  • Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Compliance with corporate policy, including SOX

  • Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to region/division and corporate management approval

  • Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments

  • Manage hiring, training and development of plant financial staff

  • Manages the deployment of cost saving and other programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability

  • Supports and monitors variable pay for performance, as applicable

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting / certificates ACCA

  • Minimum nine years of professional experience

Skills:

  • Sound working knowledge of SOX, US GAAP and local statutory requirements

  • Technical capability to prepare, analyse and interpret financial and operational data/reports

  • Good superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities often with demanding time constraints

  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to motivate and help direct the organization; exhibits managerial courage in defending a position and handling conflict

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to achieve clear alignment between plant and region/division

  • Strong change management leadership skills required to drive environment of continuous improvement

  • Solid professional presence and confidence required to interact and command respect from Plant Leadership team

  • Fluent English
