Citigroup VP, Market Risk Independent Assurance Auditor (Hybrid) in Tampa, Florida
Risk Management Independent Assurance (RMIA) tests and monitors first line of defense (1LOD) businesses to ensure they follow applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, and properly remediate any identified deficiencies.
The Market Risk Independent Assurance VP will work closely with the Market Risk RMIA Lead to develop and deliver high-quality independent assurance reviews, including performance of control testing, corrective action validation and business monitoring. This role requires an understanding of market risk policy and practices; and the ability to engage with multiple senior stakeholders, utilize subject matter expertise to provide effective challenge to current practices, and effectively work across multiple teams and business lines to execute on the RMIA Market Risk mandate.
Key Responsibilities:
Consistently develop, execute and deliver quarterly Market Risk RMIA reports in a timely manner, in accordance with RMIA requirements
Serve as lead reviewer for Market Risk RMIA reviews
Test controls through the acquisition of data and information related to business processes and procedures
Appropriately assess compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and adherence to Policy
Collaborate with business leaders to determine solutions to identified control deficiencies
Monitor the risk environment and assess emerging risks through the business monitoring process
Apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency
Skills/Competencies:
Self-motivated, independent and detail oriented
Able to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Risk management and controls knowledge; working knowledge of Citi policies is preferred
Qualifications:
6-10 years relevant experience in financial services industry with a sound understanding of Markets businesses and Market Risk management
Knowledge of Internal Audit or Compliance methodologies and approaches is strongly preferred
Related certification (CPA, ACA, CFA, CIA, CISA or similar) preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
