System One is currently seeking a skilled Trailer Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Tampa, FL.

Summary:

Our trailer mechanics work to keep trailers and other vehicles in sound mechanical condition. Technicians will service, inspect, diagnose and repair trailer bodies, systems and components.

Job Duties:

• Performing preventative maintenance measures on tanks and trailers.

• Assembling and dissembling equipment and cleaning the fuel tanks.

• Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.

• Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.

• Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

• Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.

• Ensuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.

• Compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, and reporting all findings to management.

  Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of tank/trailer repair experience.

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Must be living in the area - not open to candidates that have to relocate

• Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a trailer.

• Tank service and repair

• Experience with air brake systems and repairs

• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience

• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

• A working knowledge A.B.S. systems

• Basic computer skills

• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole

• Must be able to work in confined spaces.

• At least 18 years of age

• Able to pass a drug test and background check

• Be authorized to work in the United States
