The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
Position Summary/Details:
Support business planning with budgeting and forecasting, business plans, and financial / operational support for Safety, Solar, Clean Energy and Environmental departments, along with major projects. Great opportunity for someone who loves analytics and the ability to consider financial impacts of their strategy is a plus.
Accountabilities:
Preparing and uploading journal entries
Placing capital work orders in service
Preparing O&M and capital reports and send to operations
Physical Location of Co-op: TECO Plaza 702 N Franklin St. Tampa FL 33602
Working Conditions Mostly in a normal office environment
Preferred Availability: Part – Time (20-30 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Co-Op Requirements:
To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Degree : Accounting, Finance or Business
Year in School: Junior or Senior
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
MS Excel
Completion of Financial Accounting Information and Managerial Accounting courses in college
