The role you’ll contribute:

The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Nurse provides care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, interventional radiology procedures, peripheral procedures, cardiac device implants, as well as other procedures as indicated. Care includes administration and monitoring of moderate sedation under the direction of the physician, circulation, and monitoring/recording of said procedures. These procedures integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Nurses require a high degree of knowledge in radiologic imaging as well as the anatomy of the heart, circulatory, and body system. Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Nurses prepare for and assist the cardiologist/interventional radiologist in complex procedures involving advanced equipment to aide in diagnostic testing, interventions, and device implantation in an acute setting. Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Nurses provide care in a highly technical and highly acute environment. Invasive Cardiovascular Specialists use multiple imaging modalities that include x-ray (XR), computerized tomography (CT), and ultrasound (US).

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

· Administers medications to patients undergoing procedures under the physician’s direction.

· Reads and interprets the hemodynamics of the patient during procedures and reports changes to the physician when indicated.

· Provides patient care in Cardiac Cath Lab suites, Radiology suites including CT/US, as well as pre/post areas.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Associates Degree or higher in Nursing.

· Minimum 1 year experience in Critical Care and/or Emergency Department.

· Current licensure as a Registered Nurse / Nurse Practitioner in Florida or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.

· BLS, ACLS and NIHSS Stroke (NIHSS must be from either American Heart Association, Know Stroke, or APEX).
