The Team You Will Join

The Reinsurance function within MetLife helps the organization to manage risk, optimize capital efficiency contributing to dividend capacity, and to accept risks otherwise would not, thus contributing to new business growth. Reinsurance Administration ensures ongoing fulfillment of reinsurance contractual obligations with internal and external counterparties, including production of periodic seriatim policy listings with underlying reinsurance calculations (e.g., premiums) and periodic settlement statements.

The Opportunity

Lead Financial Consultant in Reinsurance team will oversee all aspects of the Individual Business Reinsurance Administration practice. He / she will establish sustainable production processes including appropriate control frameworks and co-create the future-state reinsurance administration platforms and processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the IB system (Individual Business) & Remediation program which is being implemented by four teams. Responsible for on-time delivery of project results.

• Collaborate with various internal and external department including Reinsurers, Valuation, Direct Admin Team, Production Management, Auditors (internal/external), Controllers.

• Support Global Reinsurance Admin Lead in implementation of corporate strategies

• Lead and support the team of Business Anlaysts and Project Managers

• Develop program strategies including risk management, configuration management and communication management.

• Manage MetLife Individual Business reinsurance accounting and administrative functions. Ensure timely and accurate accounting and cash settlements.

• Manage and support multi-million dollars Reinsurance Individual Business. Lead and support key negotiation activities from system and admin perspective including recaptures, rate increases, novation etc.

• Partner with external reinsurers to perform administrative functions and maintain positive, productive working relationships.

• Work closely with internal and external auditors, regulators and third party reinsurers. Monitor compliance with existing controls and recommend enhanced controls for life reinsurance.

• Develop future-state reinsurance administration platforms and processes.

• Be the central point of contact for guidance and support for all Reinsurance system strategic matters

• Lead, coach and develop members of GOSC.

• Work on adhoc analytics and data/solution implementation for reinsurance systems

What You Need to Succeed:

• 5+ years of reinsurance experience.

• Strong record of success in managing projects with excellent inter-personal skills.

• Strong project/program management skills

• Excellent oral/written communication skills including the ability to read and interpret business documents.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of reinsurance systems and reinsurance administrative procedures is highly desired.

• Knowledge of direct insurance systems and direct insurance administrative procedures is a plus.
