Overview of the Role

What is Tools & Automation? Our mandate is clear: to enhance the user experience across our PMO tools through the integration of intelligent automation while mitigating existing manual interventions and pain points. Collaborating closely with O&T PMO teams, Enterprise Tool and Reporting team, and key functions, we are poised to deliver a transform experience this year. Our strategic focus revolves around several key projects and goals outlined for this year. This is a process improvement team where we look for technology and solutions that are not yet explored by identifying and partnering with technology teams who can assist in onboarding and deployment.

The IT Project Group Manager ( Data and Reporting Lead) is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.

This role applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Develop and maintain software solutions that automate tedious and time-consuming manual business processes. This role will also lead initiatives related to the design and management of workflow automation projects. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining technical documentation, testing and fixing bugs, training users, identifying technology solutions based on business needs, and providing technical support. To succeed, the ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of RPA development, business analyst, and be comfortable working with a variety of technologies and ambiguity. This role will be responsible for managing the organization’s data infrastructure and reporting functions, ensuring the accurate collection, analysis, and presentation of data to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of data management and reporting tools. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that align with the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all technology components of the development and implementation of major/multiple/highly complex projects; may manage enterprise wide projects.

  • Develops detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.

  • Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed.

  • Sets guidelines for appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.

  • Impacts the IT project leadership function by strategic influence and by exercising control over resources, budget management and planning; accountable for end results.

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.

  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.

  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Lead the development and delivery of regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business needs.

  • Translate complex data sets into actionable insights, providing recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Supervise a team of data analysts and reporting specialists, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.

  • Collaborate with IT, operations, finance, and other departments to identify data needs and develop solutions.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in data and reporting, advising on best practices and emerging trends.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve data management processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and optimization in reporting processes.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements in data management, automation, and reporting tools.

  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure proper usage and protection of data assets.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a related technology role with commensurate people management experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

  • Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, ETL processes) and reporting software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with data governance and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.

  • Ability to analyze complex processes and design efficient automation solutions.

  • Positive attitude and mind set to break silo’s and work through ambiguity to find and implement solutions.

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience in web automation and data scraping libraries such as Selenium, BeautifulSoup, or Scrapy.

  • Familiarity with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Angular, to effectively navigate and interact with web pages.

  • Knowledge of database concepts and experience working with database systems like MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or MongoDB is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred.

  • Experience developing and consuming APIs preferred.

  • Experience designing technical specification documents for RPA projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
