Candidates must be able to travel out of town for up to 3 weeks at a time. This is not a local driving position.

Position Summary:This position requires the driver to work on a team to prepare the road for application and direct traffic, as well as operate and maintain the distributor, dump, and sweeper trucks.
Duties:
- Assist with closing and reopening roadways, setting up and taking down cones and signage, flagging traffic, and cleaning the road for the rejuvenating application.
- Walk to each resident's home or business to pass out fliers informing them of pending roadwork.
- Speak to residents and business owners to answer questions.
- Operate and maintain a distributor, dump, or street sweeper (depending on CDL endorsements).
- Follow all DOT rules and regulations
- Record all drive time and keep accurate records of expenses
- Keep issued work truck clean and performing. Troubleshoot issues, conduct routine maintenance, fill out maintenance logs, and perform daily inspections
- Report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions, as well as any DOT violations (including but not limited to HOS)
- Learn how to operate, maintain, and drive all trucks for cross-training purposes
Are you qualified?
- Minimum age 21 for vehicle insurance purposes.
- Must have a valid CDL license with a current medical card and no more than 4 points and any suspensions of any kind in the past 3 years.
- Specific equipment experience is a plus but will train the right person
- Frequent overnight travel across the SE region
- Prior road crew construction experience, mechanical aptitude, and customer service skills are a plus
- Routine background, alcohol, and drug testing
- Passing grade on flagger course
