As a key leader for the Farnell business, reporting to the President, Farnell Global and Integrated Solutions, you will drive vision and purpose providing strategic sales direction and management for Farnell Americas. The position will work closely with the leadership team providing a compelling proposition with each other as well as the Avnet business units to develop shared success with our customers.

Location

Position must be within the US and location will be discussed further depending on where the individual currently resides.

Responsibilities

  • Provides effective strategic direction and execution oversight to the Americas sales team.

  • Ensures regional and/or global alignment to growth objectives and execution of agreed sales and margin plans.

  • Identify, plan and implement sales initiatives with Avnet Core teams to leverage the power of one opportunity.

  • Builds, mentors, and leads a world-class sales organization with well-established goals and key performance metrics.

  • Work with ecommerce to ensure our digital proposition meets the needs of customer to transact and self-serve online.

  • Builds customer relationships and drives growth of assigned customer base.

  • Attracts, engages, develops, and retains top talent to inspire and promote an inclusive culture and ensure a strong diverse talent bench.

  • Identify, plan, and implement joint sales initiatives with Avnet Core teams.

Specifications

  • Proven ability to lead large sales organizations, across the Americas and execute through direct and indirect management, or influence.

  • Demonstrated leadership excellence in a high visibility, high business impact operational position with the business acumen to develop short- and long-range plans to meet market and financial targets.

  • Demonstrated successful operations knowledge and skill in business evaluation, workforce.

  • In-depth knowledge of business financial requirements and measurements.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers and leverage these relationships to attain business goals.

  • Provides strong leadership and effectively drive change.

  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset to identify efficiencies and implement solutions.

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in large, matrixed organizations, including experience leading a distributed sales force, supplier development functions, and/or procurement operations.

  • Experience in electronics, distribution, supply chain management or other high-volume distribution.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. Masters’ degree preferred.
