Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in Tallahassee, Florida, for a Sr. Accountant in the Non-Profit industry. This role will involve processing of revenue and expenses, maintaining membership and financial records, and general ledger maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Handle the processing of cash receipts efficiently and accurately

• Maintain and manage membership and financial records

• Set up and maintain accounts payable vendors in Great Plains accounting software

• Manage weekly check runs, including verifying correct account expense coding

• Handle ACH/wire payments and manage Positive Pay Exceptions

• Assist with accounts payable reconciliation and other month-end close duties

• Oversee expense report reimbursements and credit card payments

• Manage the 1099 process and distribution at year-end

• Prepare Monthly Florida Sales Tax Returns

• Assist with 990 Preparation and external audits

• Manage shared accounting support email requests

• Prepare various reconciliations and variance analysis

• Oversee the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable function

• Manage the Month-End Close Process

• Assist with Budget preparation

Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred

• Minimum of 3 years detail-oriented experience, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Tax - Form 990, specifically within a non-profit context

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Great Plains or D365
