Position Summary:

Shelter Support Staff Services (Various Roles) Case Management/Support General Shelter Support Lead and Management Support Staff Registration Dormitory/Feeding Logistics Case Workers Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary Compensation: $20-$45/hour depending on role/experience Travel/Location: Must be able to be on-site daily at designated facility- exact location will be determined at point of offer

Mission of Role/Position Summary:

The Shelter Support Staff members will provide oversight, coordination and administrative support for shelter operations. The Shelter Support Staff will demonstrate high empathy and work with appropriate parties and staff to accomplish established objectives. This role will be critical in meeting the needs of the operation and population it serves. This position requires excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Provide services as assigned to accomplish assigned objectives to support shelter guests, facilities and resource coordination.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong desire to help people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to engage, embrace, and celebrate the culture, ethnic diversity, and community values. Must be able and willing to perform well in a stressful environment and assist team in maintaining a collaborative, supportive workplace. Experience with following and executing program protocols. High degree of empathy. Comfortability with quick pivots/adjustments in program processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding organization and ability to work independently in fast paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisor and lead positions may have responsibilities overseeing shelter staff workers as assigned depending on role.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends. Dependability and punctuality are paramount. Schedule may require 12-hour workdays 7 days/week for initial response period.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 25% travel is expected for this position. Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time. Physical Demands:

Mobility required on-site with clients. Sitting or standing for hours at a time. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed. Working Environment:

Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings Requirements Experience/Education Required:

Minimum one year administrative support experience High school diploma or equivalent Minimum one year of customer experience Leadership/supervisor experience required for management roles Experience working or volunteering in a Shelter. Emergency management experience is a plus. Experience in a dynamic environ ent in which priorities often shift quickly.
