NTT America Solutions, Inc. Senior Global Sales Engineer in Tallahassee, Florida

The Senior Global Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales team as a key role in the sales process to be the data center subject-matter expert, owner of the technical requirements, and responsible for developing solutions required to win the deal. This role requires partnering with the sales team to communicate how the proposed solution meets or exceeds customer requirements. This individual will be responsible for establishing relationships with our customers and partners, representing our potential clients, and is an integral part of the sales process. This is a remote position that provides pre-sales technical support to the Global NTT GDC sales team nationwide. You will help prospective customers and partners understand NTT GDC Americas data centers, explaining the technical features and serving as the subject matter expert on all data center products, services, and solutions to help the sales team close business deals. You will be responsible for presenting solutions, generating quotes, and leading tours of the NTT GDC Americas facilities nationally. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge base in the Mission Critical Data Centers and Facilities Marketplace. You must be a self-starter, sales-centric, a personable team player able to build cooperative relationships with individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owner of the technical and data center solutions in the sales process

  • Assists with preparing quotes, proposals, and RFI/RFP responses

  • Partner with the sales team to develop and deliver winning strategizes and presentations

  • Design solutions and supporting documents for customer and partner sales opportunities

  • Periodic travel for customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and training

  • Engage and often lead sales discussions with prospects, customers, and partners (either in person or via conference calls) with Account Executives when a technical resource is needed

  • Maintain positive customer relations throughout the sales process in support of earning customers current and future business and trust

  • Strong in-depth expert working knowledge of data center infrastructure and management, mechanical and electrical systems

  • Comfortable with different modeling solutions based on kilowatt delivery to a customer environment

  • Network, cloud services, storage, and experience with other technologies found in our customers' environments highly desired

  • Successful in a team environment and you promote/encourage open communication

  • Serve as a Technical liaison between customer and product and operations team to ensure supportable solutions and designs

  • Hosts tours of the NTT GDC Americas data centers.

  • Identifies the best use of the NTT GDC Americas wholesale product offerings to develop solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.

  • Creates and edits pricing quotes quickly and accurately.

  • Responds to, maintains, and stores answers to technical RFP questions.

  • Product knowledge - knowing and explaining product features/benefits and competitive position, understanding customer's business operations and needs, understanding and responding to the competition, gathering, and applying market knowledge

  • History of successfully presenting to senior-level prospect and customer contacts.

  • Performs special projects related to the Solutions Engineering function as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales engineering experience (or equivalent) in the Data Center or Colocation industry with an in-depth understanding of the sales process.

  • Must be comfortable speaking with clients, possess a keen listening ability, and be a master storyteller and presenter.

  • Expert level understanding of modern data centers and IT client requirements and environments with a primary focus on wholesale customers and their data center requirements.

  • Proficient with software applications such as AutoCAD, CFD Modeling, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Outlook, SharePoint, Oracle, and Salesforce.

  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional multi-site team environment.

  • Ability to manage stress and a fast-paced environment effectively.

  • Excellent problem solver/creative thinker.

  • Engages customers to extract critical technical and business drivers that may position client deliverables.

  • Effective at working with 3rd party contractors and vendors to aid in designing large customer infrastructure deployments.

  • Working knowledge in developing a bill of materials and scope of work to meet large customer infrastructure deployment requirements.

  • Maintains familiarity with competitive offerings to position products and solutions in a competitive environment effectively.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent education and work experience in computer-related field usually obtained with 5+ years of related technical sales in a wholesale data center environment is a must. Note: Equivalent education and work experiences require a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Working experience with Salesforce and Oracle is a must, coupled with extensive RFP and RFI processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk and deliver technical tours in large data centers.

  • Primarily sitting with some days of extensive walking.

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

  • Ability to lift or carry objects up to 20 lbs.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Home office environment.

  • Walking in a Data Center environment with varying temperatures and loud noises.

  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Expect 25% travel (when possible)

  • Works remotely with periodic visits to data centers and clients' offices nationwide.

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $165,000 - $175,000 and is eligible for commissions/SIP.
