The purpose of Florida educator certification is to support the academic achievement of our students by assuring that our educators are professionally qualified for highly effective instruction. Description:
In this position, the candidate will serve as the Operations Program Specialist III to assist with critical projects or initiatives, particularly those with a high priority implementation timeline. In this capacity, you will review, evaluate and implement modifications to procedures to enhance and increase individual production efficiency in the high-volume certification management system (Versa).
• The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.
• The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the team.
• The employee must interact courteously with others.
General Responsibilities:
• This position is responsible for maintaining an organized workspace.
• This position must work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
• This position assists with daily mail sorting and processing.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Operations Unit management team on the implementation and achievement of operational goals to effectively support the needs of the Bureau.
• Collaborate with the Systems Programming Consultant to review Bureau business practices to ensure that activities and operations comply with current laws, regulations, and policies.
• Obtain knowledge and principles of integrating appropriate technical solutions to the operational business processes to determine teacher certification eligibility.
• Develop concise technical solutions for statute and rule changes that affect the bureau’s responsibilities to incorporate new processes for certification eligibility.
• Participate in testing the technical solutions to system changes to improve the bureau’s business processes.
• Coordinate with the Policy Unit on legislative changes that affect educator certification.
• Participate in staff training on new technologies through written step-by-step instructions or team and individualized training.
• Assist in the modification and management of electronic archival and retrieval filing system.
• Support the daily intake of applicant correspondence and applications to ensure documents are accurately entered into Versa.
• Develop and maintain a desk guide for this Program Specialist III position.
• Accurately test technical solutions to produce the desired change results.
• Perform data validations against list parameters for accuracy.
• Possess the ability to execute stored procedures to produce database outputs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or industry certification.
• Technology and computer experience.
• Experience working in an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Coding, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Software Development, or Information Technology.
• Microsoft Office expertise.
• Certification in any of the following areas:
o Microsoft Certified (MC)
o Java
o Structured Query Language (SQL)

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
