Guidehouse Patient Account Representative (Remote) in Tallahassee, Florida

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Representative is an extension of a client’s business office staff. Representatives are responsible for contacting research coordinators and principle investigators, if necessary, to resolve account balances. Representatives are responsible billing of charges related to clinical trials. All client policies and procedures are followed. Representatives will perform any and all job related duties as assigned.

  • Customer Service

  • Billing

  • Complete all business related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.

  • Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.

  • Assist client and patients in all requested tasks.

  • Communicate to Guidehouse Managed Services management areas of concern or areas of improvement.

    Client Responsibility:

  • Research and respond to all research coordinator inquiries received by telephone, mail, and email.

  • Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.

  • Try to resolve account balances to zero.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • PC skills in a Windows environment are required

  • Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel is essential

  • Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervision required.

  • Minimum 1 year medical office experience

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledgeable of the UB-04 Billing Claim Form

  • Knowledgeable in billing, collecting, and CPT/CDM medical coding preferred

  • Knowledge of clinical trial billing requirements

  • Ability to reconcile accounts

  • Knowledge or experience with software programs such as HealthQuest, IDX, SSI or Cerner

Additional Requirements

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

    Candidates from Eastern Standard Time, Central Standard Time, and Pacific Standard Time Zones as well as candidates from Arizona, New Mexico and Utah will be considered for this position.
