This position is situated in the Bureau of Central Services within the Division of Health Quality Assurance.
The Bureau of Central Services provides services and support to the facility licensure function of the Agency.
The Bureau is comprised of four units: the Background Screening Unit, the Financial Analysis Unit, the Central Intake Unit, and the Systems, Training, and Support Unit.
These units are responsible for the receipt and distribution of all health care facility applications and processing of associated fees; the background screening of facility owners, administrators, personnel, and Medicaid providers; the financial analysis and financial data collection of health care facilities; and the systems management, data support and training within the Division of Health Quality Assurance.
The Work You'll Do:
This is a management position that directs trained staff of varied professional backgrounds.
This position is in the Agency's Background Screening Unit. Background screening at the Agency has two important functions.
It protects frail and vulnerable populations by ensuring that owners, operators and workers at health care facilities do not have a criminal history that may endanger residents and patients.
It also allows a path for individuals who may have had a criminal history in the past to rejoin the workforce after proof of rehabilitation.
We help protect the frail and vulnerable and help give people who may have made a mistake in the past a second chance at a career in health care.
This position is directly responsible for the supervision of staff and daily operations associated with the exemption section of the Background Screening Unit including coordinating work objectives of the unit and directing work to ensure maximum use of time and resources.
Coordinates and directs the resolution of any complaints related to the management or operation of the unit and actions of its staff.
This position researches, compiles information and prepares reports required in completing special assignments, formulating management decisions and compiling and analyzing data related to administrative, regulatory, and planning issues.
This position maintains liaison with other offices within the agency, other state and federal agencies, health care professional associations, and other individuals and organizations related to the exemption process and serves as staff to agency advisory groups as assigned by the Unit Manager.
This position ensures the continuity of office work during the absence of the Unit Manager and exercises independent judgment in order to meet deadlines on actions related to Background Screening.
In the absence of the Unit Manager, has responsibility for obtaining signature on correspondence and sign-off on other products in order to ensure a timely and proper response; ensures interoffice communications are handled properly, pending items receive follow-up action, staff members are fully informed concerning project status and new priority tasks receive special handling.
This position will be hired at the minimum salary of $1,907.10 biweekly and is non-negotiable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of professional experience in an office environment.
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with one (1) or more years of regulatory background screening experience.
