General Summary:

A Passive Optical Network (PON) is a telecommunication technology that implements a point-to-multipoint architecture which provides a promising migration path from 2.5G GPON to XGSPON, 25GS-PON then 50GS-PON for the operator. PON combines cost-effectiveness, high speeds, efficiency, and reliability, making it a compelling solution for modern broadband services.

As an ASIC engineer, you will work with the software, system test engineers to work on function testing of the PON chip. In the development of new chip, the team will validate if it performs according to the specification and achieve performance goal as planned. During the process, your ideas and innovation might help identify issues that the chip may have and find solutions or workarounds for those issues.

You will have the chance to acquire a glimpse of how a new chip is developed from this experience.

Qualification and Requirement

Familiar with Linux shell script, Perl/Python/Tcl programming

Understanding of Ethernet technology, and passive optical networking (a plus)

Some experience with the following items would be preferred:

• Automation with Linux shell script/Perl/Phthon/Tcl

• Linux virtual machines

• Good English listening and reading comprehension.

• Digital logic design and simulation
