Cisco Director, Hardware Engineering - PCB & Substrate in Taipei, Taiwan

Technology and Quality organization part of Supply Chain Operations is seeking a HW Director position in Taiwan responsible for Component Quality and Technology in PCB and substrate commodities.

What You'll Do

In this role you have the responsibilities of:

Commodity leader for PCB and Substrate:

  • Establish deep, strong technical relationship with industry and Cisco suppliers.

  • Drive Advanced PCB technology development to enable next generation Cisco products.

  • Develop and execute Substrate long-term Commodity Strategy supporting internal (SiOne, SiPh), ASIC and Merchant Si

  • Robust Design rules and Producibility for PCB and Substrate

  • Enable Multi-source PSL development aligned with tech roadmap and investment.

Who You'll Work With

  • Drive PCB and sub-tier suppliers for technology/material/chemical/equipment development to support next-gen PCB for Cisco products

  • Partner with GSM to enable the PCB commodity strategy (including suppliers development, resiliency enablement, productivity through VE programs)

  • Engage with SiOps,T&Q, ASIC engineering and suppliers for future substrate and package solutions development.

  • Partner with APJC SCO functional leaders to mentor local leaders and build a local leadership platform to support the SCO-TPE team.

  • Create site identity and synergy for all SCO functions (SiOps, GSM, T&Q, Meraki, Acacia) and work with cross functional leaders to understand talent acquisition need and roadmap, support hiring/retention

Who You Are

  • Understand SCO strategies, methodologies and resources to help engineering and operations achieve their desired business outcomes.

  • Have worked in cross-functional environments with track record of success in correlating the factors that influence strategies for product development, sourcing and manufacturing.

  • Possess domain knowledge in PCB and substrate with extensive partnership and established relationship with PCB and Substrate suppliers.

  • Organized and detail oriented, with ability to lead through influence and example, while communicating clear expectations through delegation and holding others accountable for results.

  • Have developed successful teams, managed programs and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with regional leaders (Sales, Eng, SCO) in the Cisco Taiwan office to drive site-level employee engagement and build the "Best Workplace in Taiwan™"

  • Establish effective relationships with local government, work cross-functionally and articulate Cisco’s outstanding contributions to the transformation of Taiwan’s IT industry to the Government.

    Minimum requirements for this role:

  • 15+ years of technical experience related to PCB & substrate technology and manufacturing

  • 10+ years in management and related experience.

  • Extensive engagement with Senior Leadership.

  • Outstanding organizational and team leadership skills.

  • Possess strong business acumen and executive presence.

  • Skilled in advising and influencing teams to drive actions and results to support and enable SCO priorities.

  • Ability to simplify the complex into clear and concise messaging.

  • Typically requires MS/MBA or equivalent.
