The Senior Purchasing Specialist serves as Purchasing SME for key/main Purchasing processes and ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of company materials and services. The purchasing team is key to ensuring continued supply of our products, relationship management with our vendors and that all processes and objectives are implemented efficiently and timely and support the overall GBS vision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Activities)
Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of applicable Quality Processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
Responsibility to understand and maintain awareness of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Key Role Responsibilities
SME to support project: support CAPA and QI; SME for training support, own highest visible accounts and or complex orders.
Responsible for the Induction and training of new team members ensuring that the highest levels of training are delivered, and measured.
Manages incoming urgent requests, work with Warehouse, Sales, Marketing, Transport, Masterdata, Planning, Finance and Customer Service.
Support purchasing order issues and concerns
Participate in daily team meetings to address open tasks, issues and projects and ensure actions are being taken to ensure KPIs are met.
Contribute to the Customer Experience ensuring delivery of acceptable quality goods and services on-time. Resolve disputes or complaints between requestors and vendors.
Act as a support and backup for Purchasing Team Lead.
Vendor Management.
Dimensions – Education / Experience / Skills
Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineer is preferred) or 5+ years relevant experience in a purchasing organization required
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or Business Management concepts preferred
Certification from APICS or equivalent preferred

Must be a team player with high initiative and energy with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive process and projects
Must be proficient in MS Office
