Primary Job PurposeThe Senior UX Designer is instrumental in devising useful, usable, and delightful user experiences. Working with a team of cross functional team of experts, they know how to gracefully and strongly advocate for what is necessary to deliver real, measurable value to users. They know how to inspire a team and to weave qualitative and quantitative research to make the case for change large and small. The Experience Design team supports, consults on and drives the creation of user-centered digital experiences. The Experience Design team works on a variety of projects from high-level, long-term conceptual work to quick-turn digital projects.As an active member of the Design team, they bring inspiration and brilliance to every project and deliver their best work every time. This team consists of a tightly knit group of individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to think beyond the obvious. Always willing to roll up his/her sleeves and get to work, the Experience Designer thinks strategically in support of usability best practices and cross-pollinates with colleagues to deliver elevated experiences that challenge the status quo, with the user always in mind.This team works closely with colleagues in other departments-from IT to developers to product owners-and is expected to deliver projects that are strategically built and beautifully implemented.General Functions and Outcomes* Provides technical and design support for other design staff, manages assigned projects between UX, UI and development.* Develops and maintains detailed user-interface specifications.* Translates user needs and business goals into effective user experiences.* (Includes user experience research, content strategy knowledge, information architecture, interaction design and interactive prototyping).* Works to improve user-centered research skills and stays current with industry trends for best-in-class user experiences.* Designs to user scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs.* Works with product teams and marketing managers to identify design goals and requirements, work with leadership on design reviews, and work with web developers on implementation.* Maintains a close relationship with engineering partners, understands the technical limitations and opportunities for development and design in any given project, discusses issues and collaborates on problem solving.* Maintains proficiency in current tools and practices, while investigating new methods.* Knows and effectively targets the member and their experience. Understands their likes/dislikes and how they interact with virtual technologies-achieved through independent research and active participation in UX testing and studies.* Works closely with other designers to execute an integrated approach for online/offline material.* Works with lead designers and visual designers to incorporate the right brand into features.* Works on small-scale projects with review from senior level, also supports senior staff on larger, complex projects.* Supports executive level staff on complicated projects requiring specific expert knowledge of user trends, industry practices and user experiences.* Supports the strategy of the greater team and sees opportunities for better efficiencies.* Drives and supports the team in coordinated efforts across the studio and marketing team.* Acts as a mentor to team members and provides leadership within the team.* Provides high level project management around complex efforts, serves as a main point for content for providers and developers.Minimum Requirements* Strong portfolio demonstrating UX best practices.* Fluent in best practices and practical know
