CalPortland Company Ready Mix Driver (Ready Mix) in Tacoma, Washington

*Job Summary* The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from. *Compensation* Union Scale \$31.95 to \$35.50 DOE *Responsibilities* * Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections * Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites * Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws * Clean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer * Must be willing to work according to customer demands * Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel * Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations * Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur * Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management *Education* High School Diploma/GED *Requirements/Qualifications* * Must have currentCommercial Class A or B drivers license with airbrakes and tank endorsement * Must be certified to drive manual transmission * Safe driving record,no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months * Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate * Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions * Must have familiarity with slumps * Good attendance and punctuality a must * Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather * Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears * Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations * Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be required *Preferred:* * Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries * 2+ years of commercial driving experience *Conditions of Employment* Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check, also registration/clearance and ongoing FMCSA regulated drug and alcohol testing.
