Position Purpose This position provides customer service and front desk coverage for The Evergreen State College Tacoma Campus. Nature and Scope Essential Functions Answer telephones and assist visitors. Check voicemail and email and respond to messages. Locate information for the general public, students, staff, and faculty. Answer questions related to the program, including the admission process. Responsible for scheduling intake interview appointments and appointments with Tacoma leadership. Schedule building space following established guidelines; check and confirm room scheduling upon request. Inventory, maintain, and order supplies. Complete photocopying assignments for staff and faculty. Receive and distribute deliveries. Set up and maintain faculty mailboxes; screen/sort and distribute daily mail. May assist with recruitment initiatives and projects. Provide social media support, including proposing content ideas and posting approved content. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Duties Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a distractive, open office environment. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to solve problems. Knowledge of office procedure and practices. Knowledge of the college's admission process. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students. Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc. Ability to look information up online and post approved content to social media. Excellent customer service skills and ability to successfully maintain positive and professional working relationships. Ability to coordinate and plan for building space and facilities usage. Ability to read, understand, and follow state, federal, and college regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ability to work effectively and respectfully with people of diverse cultures, styles, and underrepresented backgrounds. Ability to perform job related functions with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to be punctual and professional. Ability to work occasional additional hours and/or weekends.
