Summit Veterinary Referral Center is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians for their Neurology Department!

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our Neurology team. As a Specialty Technician, you will be responsible for providing veterinary care for our patients. You will work with our veterinary team to provide high-quality medical care to both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable, have a positive attitude, and a passion for animal care.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Sign on Bonus Available up to $5000

  • Hourly pay range- $30.00 - $35.00 depending on experience

  • Shift differential for any shift hours worked within 6p-6am $3/hr Mon-Thurs and $5/hr Fri-Sun

    Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    Schedule:

  • 10 hour shifts 4 times per week

  • 1 scheduled weekend shift per week required

  • On-call shift rotation required once trained

  • Shift differential for any shift hours worked within 6p-6am $3/hr Mon-Thurs and $5/hr Fri-Sun and 6a-6p Sat-Sun

  • Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities available

    Department coverage needed:

  • Neurology

    Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid license as a Veterinary Technician or be board eligible

  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

  • Experience in specialty medicine preferred, but we are willing to train the right person

    Responsibilities:

  • Proper handling and restraint of medically compromised patients

  • Triage and intake skills/TPR

  • Critical thinking in emergency setting

  • Perform technical procedures such as venipuncture, administering IV fluids, and catheter placement.

  • Perform drug calculations, administer controlled and non controlled medications PO, SQ, IM, and IV as directed by the veterinarian.

  • Monitor, induce, maintain and recover patients undergoing anesthetic procedures

  • Provide nursing care and treatment to hospitalized patients

  • Educate pet owners on post-operative and at-home care for their pets.

  • Assist with advanced imaging (Fluoroscopy/X-ray/Ultrasound/MRI/CT)

  • Communicate with other departments within the hospital or clinic for the overall success of the practice.
