Tacoma Community College Baccalaureate of Applied Science (BAS) Manager in Tacoma, Washington

TCC is seeking a team member who can help lead, oversee and grow our current bachelor degree programs and help develop future programs to serve our community.   The position plays a key role in advancing TCC's commitment to develop and deliver high quality bachelor degree programs by collaborating with program chairs, faculty and Pathway Specialists to ensure a holistic learning environment and support system for non-traditional college students.    This position is responsible for tracking, monitoring and reporting student recruitment, retention, completion, and employment. This position also leads bachelor degree-related outreach, marketing including social media and event planning.  The BAS Manager reports to the Dean of Business, Paralegal & Technology and Bachelor Programs and may supervise support staff. This role will require some evening hours to accommodate evening bachelor's programs and information sessions for non-traditional students.

 

Essential Functions

Marketing and Recruitment

  • Create, coordinate and implement outreach and recruitment strategies for the bachelor degrees programs offered at TCC.
  • Create, update and distribute recruitment materials (i.e. flyers, videos, articles).
  • Strengthen connection with workforce programs on campus and in the community. 
  • Expand network of employers and business organizations in targeted career pathway sectors.
  • Manage marketing and recruiting budget.
  • Represent TCC's bachelor programs at outreach-related events on and off campus.
  • Develop and maintain a database to track and engage with potential students.
  • Develop and maintain incoming and outgoing articulation agreements. 
  • Coordinate Master's Programs information sessions (with articulation partners) for graduating students.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

* * *Student Support *

  • Guide and direct students  with completing college admissions processes, including the bachelor's admissions application, Financial Aid application and accessing other student support services.
  • Coordinate with other college departments to ensure students have access to information about other potential sources of funding (i.e. Worker Retraining) and in-kind support to enhance student's opportunities to complete programs of study.
  • Track enrolled student progression and coordinate services that support academic persistence and success.
  • Coordinate new student onboarding sessions for each program in collaboration with the chair and respective pathway specialist.
  • Conduct exit interviews with non-completing students and BAS graduates and collect data for assessment purposes.
  • Coordinate and administer the junior student survey (end of first year of the program). Prepare, format, and analyze data for use by the chairs, dean and advisory committee.
  • Coordinate and administer the graduating student survey and format and analyze data for use by chairs, dean and advisory committee.
  • Present internship and job opportunities to bachelor students.
  • Maintain Student Canvas courses for each bachelor program. 
  • Maintain the degree-related LinkedIn groups.
  • Coordinate collecting graduate employment data.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
