Google Software Engineer, ADI (Backend, Infra, Applied ML) in São Paulo, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • Experience in Backend, Batch Processing and Design Documents.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.

  • Experience in Java/Kotlin.

  • Ability to work across the stack and data pipelines to Machine Learning (ML) models, storage and serving infrastructure and to own projects.

  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and Async processing.

  • Excellent Large-scale data processing and investigative skills.

In this role, you will develop the new infrastructure to protect and provide proportional access to all users in Google products and services.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Provide critical solutions with high Queries per second (QPS) and low latency.

  • Build the team infrastructure using Java/Kotlin, C++, Scaffolding, boq and pod Spanner and Spanner Queue.

  • Work closely with current and future partnering and integrating teams (e.g., client onboarding, review infrastructure) including Identity, Child Safety, Appeals and Dasher.
