Google Senior Product Data Scientist, Search Verticals (English, Portuguese) in São Paulo, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL).

  • 3 years of experience managing investigative projects.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in scripting, statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis System (SAS)), developing and managing metrics, and evaluating programs or products.

  • 5 years of experience with designing experiments, developing statistical models, measurement, and identifying business opportunities.

  • 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.

  • 1 year of experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.

  • Experience in data analysis, problem solving, machine learning, A/B testing.

You'll make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management. You relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next.

  • Perform analysis utilizing tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Help to solve problems, narrow down options into the best approach, and take ownership of business problems to reach an optimal solution.

  • Build new processes, procedures, methods, tests, and components with foresight to anticipate and address future issues.

  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews with the cross-functional/organizational leadership team. Translate analysis results to business insights or product improvement opportunities.

  • Build analysis and business cases to provide insights. Develop knowledge of Google data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for product development.

  • Influence across teams to align resources and direction.
