AIG Early Career Program - Underwriting in São Paulo, Brazil

Over the two-year duration of the program, successful candidates will work in a dynamic environment combining formal and experience-based training alongside meaningful and rewarding work experience. Then, guided by experienced professionals, they will put the skills they learn into practice in a supportive corporate environment.

These positions will commence in July 2024 and will be based in Sao Paulo.

Make your mark in Underwriting

AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk, transforming our operating model and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. How you will create an impact

You will contribute to the success of the Underwriting profit center.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assisting underwriters in evaluating insurance applications

  • Reviewing risk submissions and determine if they meet underwriting guidelines, relevant underwriting authority and AIG principles.

  • Conducting research and analysis including inspections and assessments.

  • Gathering and verifying information from various sources, such as clients, agents, and databases.

  • Assisting in the preparation of underwriting reports and proposals.

  • Collaborating with other departments, such as claims and sales, to ensure accurate risk assessment.

  • Providing support in policy issuance and endorsement processes.

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of underwriting activities.

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulations, and changes in underwriting guidelines.

  • Providing excellent customer service to clients and agents, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, graduating in 2024 (or 2023/2022): Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering and other related courses and availability for full-time employment, starting in July.

  • Enthusiastic and committed to pursuing a career in the global insurance industry.

  • Advanced English Skills

  • Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite of applications

  • A curious nature and a customer service mindset with good communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Enthusiastic team player with the ability to optimize business values to clients by delivering high-quality services and positive client experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.

  • Passion for customer service excellence and ability to build, develop and maintain positive relationships

  • High level of initiative and ability to prioritize tasks in an agile environment along with excellent time management and organizational ability.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and use it for decision-making
