Trinity Health Patient Safety Representative - Part Time in Syracuse, New York

Description:

20 hours a week

Day/Night shift - 7:00am - 3:30pm & 11:00pm - 7:30am

The schedule includes working every other weekend and holiday

Patient Safety Representative

Position Summary:

o Provide continuous visual observation of non-violent patients that require constant supervision for safety purposes.

o Assist with a wide variety of routine duties to support various functions of care delivery and services.

o Assist with other assignments as directed by the Administrative Coordinator.

o If needed, may assist patients under the direct supervision of a nurse.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:

o High School graduate or equivalent.

o Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be customer service orientated.

o Prior patient care/handling experience and an understanding of department related terminology preferred.

o Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

o Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service. Maintain BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training.

o Knowledge of office equipment and supplies.

Work Environment and Hazards:

o Clinical setting. Exposure Class I

Physical Demands:

o Medium work: must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting maximum of 50 pounds. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.

Work Contact Group:

o All services, medical staff, patients, visitors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.

Supervised By:

o Team Leader, Clinical Coordinator, Unit Manager, and Clinical Services/Nursing Administration.

Pay Range: $16.20 - $23.50

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
