The Martin J. Whitman School of Management and College of Engineering & Computer Science at Syracuse University is seeking a part-time instructor to teach BUA/CEE 275 – Infrastructure & Society during the fall semester.
Course description: This is the first course in the multi-disciplinary Infrastructure, Cities and the Future minor that combines material from the disciplines of business, engineering, policy, design, and information science and applies this content to the study of infrastructure management and development. This course provides an interdisciplinary view of urban infrastructure (transportation, water supply, energy systems, communications, etc.). Exploring the role that infrastructure plays in society, the course covers such topics as resilience, sustainability, economic and community impacts, finance, infrastructure development in the global economy, and smart cities. Ultimately, the course seeks to provide students with an understanding of the challenges and possibilities inherent in modern infrastructures.
