Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (MIL), Position Description Number T5900200 and is part of the 152 AOG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion. Responsibilities As a HR SPEC (MIL), GS-0201-09, you will provide technical and administrative oversight of the following programs: Officer Performance Report (OPR), Retention, Appointments, Officer and Enlisted Promotions, Base/Unit Awards and Decorations, Reenlistment, Personnel Utilization and Management, Quality Force, Customer Assistance and Base Supported Functions. Assists the Director of Readiness and Support and Commander in the overall management of all military personnel programs. Incumbent coordinates directly with State Headquarters and with other military personnel offices as appropriate. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience that demonstrates the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7. Must have experience reviewing completed reports for accuracy and completion, inputting OPR data to Base Level Military Personnel System (BLMPS), and forward for inclusion in command and master personnel records. Experience planning, organizing, and managing all facets of military personnel program. Experience should include work with Federal and state personnel policies, procedures, and actions such as selective retention, promotion, demotion, enlistment, separation, accession, retirement, and technical training school enrollment. Education If you are using Education to qualify for this position, master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. You must provide Official transcripts documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional Information *Superior Qualifications may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service). This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
