SUNY Upstate Medical University Associate Director of Audit and Compliance in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Audit and Compliance, the Associate Director of Audit and Compliance assists with compliance activities specific to Federal, State and local regulatory matters affecting billing, coding, and compliance. Assists with completion of FPP Audits on an annual basis. Must be able to work independently with speed and accuracy. Must be sensitive to confidential information. Must maintain professional and courteous contact with providers, insurance carriers and co-workers. Must possess strong grammar and writing skills. Ability to interact with providers in a tactful and engaging manner is necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree required. RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPMA or CPC-A required. Four years of outpatient or physician coding experience required. Coursework in medical terminology and Anatomy and Physiology required. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of supervisory experience preferred. Medical auditing experience preferred.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday, daytime hours
