Syracuse University Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs in Syracuse, New York
The Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs is responsible for the WellsLink Leadership Program which engages first and second-year students of color who are not in athletics or sponsored by any of the University's state or federal programs, in a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance their leadership and critical thinking skills.
The position supervises the coordinator of mentoring programs, and graduate/undergraduate student employees assigned to both WellsLink and Dimensions. They assist the director to provide creative leadership that enriches a diverse campus culture and results in the students' academic, social, and personal success.
Additionally, they work with students, faculty, professional staff, and community resources to develop and administer a wide range of programs and services that support student retention and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an emphasis on supporting students from disadvantage and underrepresented populations. This position also assists the director on evaluation and assessment initiatives and oversees all departmental social media platforms.
