Robert Half Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk in Syracuse, New York
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk in Syracuse, New York. This role is within the Real Estate & Property industry, where the selected candidate will be tasked with managing both the inflow and outflow of capital for our operations. The Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including processing payments, maintaining financial records, and handling customer and vendor inquiries.
Responsibilities
• Manage and process vendor payments, ensuring discrepancies are resolved efficiently
• Maintain and reconcile accounting records and ledgers on a monthly basis
• Facilitate the preparation, posting, and verification of customer payments related to accounts receivable
• Generate invoices in line with company practices and procedures
• Ensure outstanding obligations are promptly credited upon payment and identify discount opportunities where applicable
• Handle banking tasks, including remote scanning and in-person duties when necessary
• Serve as the primary back-up for the Executive Administrative Assistant
• Oversee the maintenance of offsite company files with record keeping warehouse
• Compile and process annual vendor 1099’s for all entities
• Use Accounting Software Systems, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and Yardi for various accounting functions. Requirements • Proficient in Account Coding, with the ability to accurately categorize invoices and receipts for streamlined record keeping.
• Demonstrated experience with Accounting Software Systems to manage and process financial data efficiently.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to enhance business process management.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Proven expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment scheduling.
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting, with the ability to record revenue and expenses when they are incurred, regardless of when cash is exchanged.
• Experience in Auditing, with the ability to detect discrepancies in financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Proficient in using Automated Clearing House (ACH) for electronic funds transfer, ensuring timely and secure transactions.
• Experience with Yardi, a property management software, to manage and track property-related financial transactions effectively.
