LifePoint Health Medical Assistant - Harris Pain Clinic - PRN in Sylva, North Carolina

Optional $1,500 Sign-on Bonus with a 1-year commitment period. The Bonus payout occurs over the 1-year period.

The function of the Medical Assistant is to work alongside and assist Providers in the treatment of patients. Assists Providers with preparation and information documentation for the patient’s visit including obtaining vitals, medical history, and other pertinent information from the patient. Prepares exam rooms for patients. Assists Providers with procedures as directed by the Provider. Assists with collection of lab samples. Documents all care and education in medical record.

No weekends. Options for 4-day work weeks

QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
A. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
B. Work experience: Two years of experience working in a physician’s practice desired.
C. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Must have the ability to work independently, have strong communication skills, good basic math skills and be computer literate. Coding experience preferable. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Customer service skills a must. A service-oriented personality is required. D. Life Safety: American Heart Association BLS certification (CPR) maintained.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Extended periods of time sitting and walking, bending and stooping may be required. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Has the ability to lift and move 25 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to normal limits. Potential exposure to patients or other individuals who may be physically or verbally abusive.
