Job Information

Amazon Sr. Program Manager, AU Country Lead, Flex SLS in Sydney, Australia

Description

At Amazon, we're looking for a Senior Program Manager for Amazon Flex. Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on-board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more.

The Sr. Program Manager will be responsible for establishing scalable mechanisms to ensure world-class evaluation processes for delivery partners. You will relentlessly focus on continuous improvement, diving deep into processes and issues to uncover the root cause and systematically fix underlying defects to prevent the recurrence of similar process defects. This opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, root cause identification, problem-solving, an analytical approach and logical reasoning, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment. An ideal candidate for this role should have proven expertise collaborating cross-functionally, building scalable mechanisms and communicating to senior stakeholders, including Legal, Directors and VPs.

This role will act as the Australia country lead for the Service Level Standards (SLS) program, which is responsible for ensuring that Delivery Partners (DPs) provide high quality service to Amazon Last Mile delivery businesses. Our vision is to influence Delivery Partners to be safe, reliable, and provide great quality deliveries to our customers by accurately measuring driver behaviour and communicating opportunities for them to improve.

Our team operates out of our fabulous CBD office conveniently located near many transportation.

Amazon offers employees a competitive remuneration package, including participation in the company stock plan as applicable. We also look after our people with benefits, such as subsidized private health insurance, superannuation and paid parental leave options, amongst others.

Key job responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for unique business, legal and cultural requirements in Australia and customize SLS program strategy to ensure it remains accurate and effective accordingly.

  • Help build reporting mechanisms, identify opportunities, establish mitigation processes, respond to executive escalations, and work with cross-functional partners to communicate issues and progress.

  • Ensure SLS processes are compliant with unique Australian legal regulations. This includes ownership of a dedicated workflow for auditing Australia enforcement decisions to mitigate legal risk. Additionally, this role will provide program support for the Senior Risk Manager role for Australia, who will represent Amazon Flex in conciliation meetings with the Australian Fair Work Commission (FWC) and/or other labour arbitration bodies/regulators.

  • Drive customer quality by partnering with regional business teams to review and improve key business quality metrics.

  • Partner with customers and internal/external program, product and tech teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order. Act as the bridge between Australia-based Flex teams and the central SLS worldwide team to ensure team goals are aligned and are achieved successfully.

  • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems and help teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g. requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, insufficient stakeholder reviews).

  • Develop, implement, and manage KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance of relevant projects.

  • Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end-to-end outcomes for Amazon customers.

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
