Data Center Operations designs, installs & maintains the world’s largest Computing Infrastructure. This role is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most cutting-edge data centers in the world. Amazon data centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of cloud technology in the region.

You will work on installing and troubleshooting the infrastructure that supports the AWS cloud. You will also be responsible to work with logistics and other teams to maintain daily operations. There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges.

Key job responsibilities

  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal Service-Level Agreements (SLA)

  • Diagnose and repair issues for server, storage and network devices, including the physical replacement of parts.

  • Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participate in Data Center power & cooling events.

Additional role requirements

  • Shift work (4 days on and 4 days off including night shifts on a rotational basis).

  • This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment using our lifting equipment

  • This role has a rostered on-call requirement to provide 24x7 support. This may change based on the future needs of the business

  • Due to the location of our sites, candidates should possess a valid driver's license and their own vehicle.

A day in the life

At today's large-scale data centers, you will be involved in:

  • Work schedule changes depending on specific site needs. Shifts are 12-hours and will rotate on a predefined schedule

  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLA)

  • Triage & resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region

  • Physical replacement of server and network device parts

  • On-site management of contractors, subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience

  • 1+ years of computer networking experience

  • High school or equivalent diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure

  • Knowledge of server hardware and components

  • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the follow hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP, Supermicro) is a plus
