Our client, a well-established manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Plant Facility Safety Manager to join their team.

Job Title: Safety Manager

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Manager to ensure the safety and security of our employees, visitors, and facilities. In this critical role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and lead emergency responses. You’ll work collaboratively with various departments to promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies for overnight operations.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities and equipment.

  • Identify and address potential safety hazards through corrective actions.

  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Act as the primary contact during overnight emergencies.

  • Develop, update, and manage emergency response procedures.

  • Coordinate with local emergency services as needed.

  • Conduct regular emergency drills and oversee training for preparedness.

  • Investigate and document safety incidents and near-misses.

  • Provide detailed reports on incidents, offering recommendations to prevent recurrence.

  • Analyze safety data to track trends and areas for improvement.

  • Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training to overnight staff.

  • Organize regular refresher courses to ensure continued safety awareness.

  • Develop and distribute safety communication materials, keeping employees informed of updates.

  • Monitor and manage access control systems to ensure secure facility operations.

  • Conduct regular facility patrols and surveillance to maintain a safe environment.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure consistent understanding and enforcement of safety protocols.

  • Effectively communicate safety policies, updates, and procedures to overnight employees.

  • Encourage and foster a culture of safety, promoting the reporting of potential hazards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate safety standards and procedures.

  • Participate in relevant safety committees and working groups to stay engaged with industry developments.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a safety management role, ideally in facility management or a similar environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and accreditation programs.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
