GENERAL SUMMARY The IC&E Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily technical activities in instrumentation and control, electrical, CEM and computer systems. Provides the technical services needed to support the reliable and continued operation of the plant. Serves as an active team member who is also an environmental and safety steward. NOTE: The IC&E Technician will also provide on-site support at the Carneys Point plant as needed PRIMARY FUNCTIONS * Maintains all plant IC&E equipment to assure optimal production * Maintains all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment * Protects and enhances value of facility * Develops and utilizes multi-skilled approach for broad work systems approach * Plans, coordinates and executes IC&E related preventative, scheduled and forced outages activities to assure minimum down time and optimal plant operation * Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, makes recommendations for repair and oversees as necessary * Oversees the operation and maintenance of the air emissions monitoring equipment (CEMS) * Oversees the operation and maintenance of performance monitoring system * Coordinates activities and interfaces with contractor and vendor representatives and personnel * Maintains various databases and effectively uses standard software packages * Assists in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory * Maintains a clean and safe shop and plant environment * Completes and properly documents problems, repairs, and downtime * Updates drawings and prints as required * Requisitions, orders, and tracks parts and materials needed to complete tasks * Designs and installs new equipment and/or system modifications * Performs other duties as required by plant conditions and effectively communicates plant status to plant management as required NAES SAFE Safety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required. All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility. JOB QUALIFICATIONS * High School diploma or equivalent required * Five (5) years relevant industry/military experience * Thorough knowledge and understanding of power plant IC&E systems and equipment, electrical principles, electrical safety, electrical test equipment.
