       License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia driver's license required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. College training and/or academic preparation through non-English language preferred.Experience Qualifications: Experience providing outreach services to families and children required. Experience in a school setting working with Title I preferred.Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public, families, students, and staff; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; strong clerical skills including typing, word processing skills, and filing; knowledge of basic bookkeeping skills; and ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner. High level of bilingual ability in English and predominant minority language preferred.Primary Responsibilities: Provide family outreach and training activities for parents of all students in Title I schools to assist them in helping their children improve their academic achievement and in becoming active participants in the education of their children. 1. Assist with Building Parent Capacitya. Participate in parent-teacher conferences, assisting targeted parents with understanding progress monitoring, Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum, assessments, Title I requirements, and how to support their children'sacademic successb. Communicate with parents in multiple formats that reflect the needs of the communityc. Assist the Assistant Principal for Title I in collaboration with parent and community stakeholders in the development of the school's parent and family engagement plan, the School-Family Compact, and budgetd. Assist in the coordination of local staff, district staff, and community partners to integrate activities designed to build parent capacitye. Maintain the Title I Parent Center and consult with teachers for appropriate student learning materials for parent check-out f. Establish and meet regularly with a Family Engagement Committee2. Assist with Building Staff Capacitya. Assist in the development of and participate in professional learning and collaboration as it relates to Title I, Part Ab. Assist the Assistant Principal for Title I in facilitating professional learning sessions to build the capacity of teachers and other staff to improve family engagementc. Assist the Assistant Principal for Title I in collaboration with all staff regularly to coordinate activities to build the capacity of parents that align to the school’s Local School Plan for Improvement (LSPI), parent and family engagement plan, and the School-Family Compactd. Work with school leaders on faculty and staff usage of the GCPS Language Bank to ensure quality communication with all parents/families, especially parents/families of English Learner (EL) studentse. Assist school leaders, faculty, and staff on strategies for outreach to all parents, especially those of English Learner (EL) studentsf. Assist school leaders in identifying languages for the translation of school documents specifically for parents/families of EL students regarding the education of their childreng. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings and professional learning offered by the Office of Federal Programs 3. Outreach to the Communitya. Conduct community outreach as it relates to Title I, Part Ab. Serve as the liaison between school and community for family engagement purposesc. Collaborate with community stakeholders to create partnerships with local business4. Perform other duties as assigned.
