       License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required. Specialist or doctorate degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Five years experience with foreign language and DLI programs at multiple levels with proven leadership in development and implementation of curricular content, assessment, and program infrastructure required. Preferred experience includes: experience in the design and delivery of professional development to support research-based best practices in instructional methodology for both foreign language and DLI programs; experience working with building leadership; experience as an instructional coach or similar staff development role; proficiency in Spanish or French language(s); experience with elementary school-level DLI programs.Skills Qualifications: Ability to work successfully with colleagues; ability to lead the development and support of both the foreign language and Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to be task oriented, a visionary leader, and possess successful project management skills; strong technology skills in Microsoft Office; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; and ability to effect change.Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership to plan, direct, and implement foreign language and DLI programs for Gwinnett County Public Schools.1. Support the planning, development, and implementation of foreign language and DLI programs. 2. Develop and facilitate professional development for foreign language and DLI teachers. 3. Provide guidance to external partners in support of foreign language and DLI programs (i.e. Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) development of Dual Language Immersion endorsement; Georgia Dual Language Immersion Institute; Georgia State University, Georgia Gwinnett College, and University of Georgia DLI BA, MA, and endorsement program development; Louisiana French DLI partnership; National DLI Project Grant; etc.). 4. Collaborate with coordinators and instructional coaches in the Curriculum and Instructional Support Department to develop and implement cross-curricular curriculum. 5. Oversee the development of instructional calendars, common assessments, and other curriculum supports for both foreign language and DLI programs. 6. Collaborate with district recruitment and retention partners and assist in development of a robust pipeline for foreign language and DLI teachers. 7. Develop and support initiatives to retain foreign language and DLI teachers. 8. Facilitate educational meetings for DLI parents, district leaders, and community members.9. Coordinate the development and implementation of district DLI and foreign language articulation and continuation initiatives (i.e. Middle School DLI Continuation Taskforce, High School DLI Continuation Taskforce, DLI Advanced Placement (AP) Readiness Initiative, Dual Enrollment (DE)Taskforce, etc.). 10. Complete special projects as needed. 11. Perform other duties as assigned.
