       License and Certification Qualifications: Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Law Enforcement certification, pass a criminal history, psychological, and polygraph test, and valid Georgia driver's license required.Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required.Experience Qualifications: Seven years of law enforcement experience and two years' experience as School Resource Officer required. Previous supervisory or OIC experience preferredSkills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to listen and respond to other's needs; ability to work in a school environment with young people, educators, and citizens; and ability to teach courses related to drugs, law enforcement, citizenship, criminal justice, safety, crime prevention, and law; and ability to supervise personnel in day to day activities.Primary Responsibilities: Assist school administration and staff in providing a safe and secure environment for students by proactively planning and immediate response to situations while maintaining law enforcement responsibilities within assigned clusters through supervision and daily contact with assigned School Resource Officers (SRO's).1. Assist SRO's in their assigned clusters with school safety plans and emergency safety drills.2. Attend supervisory meetings and communicate relevant information to SRO's.3. Communicate and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies.4. Ensure SRO's in assigned clusters are following proper policies and procedures in their day to day activities. 5. Maintain visibility of SRO's in their assigned clusters.6. Provide assistance to SRO's in assigned clusters with responses to calls or case investigations. 7. Review and approve reports and associated paperwork/documentation.8. Supervise, consult, direct, advise, and instruct SRO's on law enforcement issues relevant to duties. 9. Coordinate with Community Superintendents to assist with school needs and concerns. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time; climb stairs; run, sit, climb and/or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The ability to listen more closely and acutely than normal daily life to accurately perceive information is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to discern colors and work in a night setting. The employee must maintain appropriate physical standards including agility, physical strength, and stamina in order to respond to emergency situations, restrain and apprehend suspects, lift, and push or pull individuals or objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
