About the role We are offering a 3-month internship opportunity in Environmental engineering in Rio Tinto's Resolution Copper site in Superior, Arizona. We areofferinga 3-month Environmental Engineering summer internship at Rio Tinto's Resolution Copper project based in Superior, Arizona.This opportunity will allow you to identify and manage environment related risks, perform environmental field activities and become exposed to environmental regulation in a mining environment. You'll be involved in reactive and proactive activities including reporting, investigations and establishing best practice. What you'll bring At least one year completed* in an Environmental bachelor or master's program (Environmental Engineering, Science or another related field) Interest and specialization in Sustainability, Sustainable Development and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead Flexibility and autonomy Good communication skills and ability to work in a team Valid driving licence *To be eligible, you must return to school the semester following the internship period and have the right to work full-time in the United States. The project is a joint venture owned by Rio Tinto (55%) and BHP (45%). The ore deposit lies nearly 7,000 feet below the earth's surface. It represents one of the most significant untapped copper deposits today, with an estimated copper resource of 1.787 billion metric tonnes at an average grade of 1.5% copper.
