Ford Motor Company Mechanical Engineer (Thermal Analysis) in Sunrise, Florida

CAE Mechanical Engineer working within the Sunrise product development team. Candidate will run Thermal CAE on Electronic modules that are air cooled, fan cooled, and/or liquid cooled.

Responsibilities

  • Run Thermal CAE’s on electronic modules. Report results to the Mechanical Engineering Technical Lead and product development team

  • Collaborating with Hardware Engineers, PCB Designers and the Mechanical Engineering Lead to identify opportunities for thermal performance improvement

  • Monitor vehicle level simulations and ensure the accuracy of assigned electronic modules

  • Work with Vehicle Packaging Engineers to ensure Module Thermal Packaging Specifications are followed in vehicle mounting/placement of the Module

  • Perform Thermal Testing on products under development

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in product design

  • 3+ years of experience using a Thermal CAE tool (Icepak preferred)

  • This position does not offer Visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience designing mechanical components

  • 3+ year experience running Thermal CAE software

  • Experience with electronics cooling

  • Experience with Catia 3D Solid Modeling Software

  • Experience with Team Center

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PPT, Word...)

  • Demonstrated team player as well as self-motivated

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, internal and external teams

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to modify/re-work parts with basic prototyping tools (end mill, band saw, drill press, etc…)
