Primary Function

The Streaming Producer will play a key role in delivering seamless live streaming experiences across multiple platforms, including LinkedIn Live, Microsoft Teams, and YouTube Live. Work with a diverse team of engineers and producers, and be responsible for setting up, running, and troubleshooting live streams. Support the wider studio team in delivering exceptional experiences to stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Streaming Producer and Broadcast Systems Engineer to configure, set up, and monitor encoded live streams across various platforms

  • Schedule, test, and manage live streams on multiple platforms, ensuring optimal performance on LinkedIn Live, YouTube Live, and more

  • Author detailed reports on viewer behavior and platform performance, providing insights into user experience across platforms like Microsoft Teams, Intercall, Wowza Cloud, and others

  • Troubleshoot stream issues in real-time by working closely with vendors and Broadcast Systems Engineers, ensuring seamless broadcasts

  • Administer settings and configurations in live video encoding appliances such as Elemental Live, Teradek, and Haivision to maintain stream quality

  • Continuously refine and automate live streaming workflows to improve efficiency and scalability. Implement tools to streamline encoding, platform integration, and real-time monitoring

  • Ensure the successful delivery of live streams across multiple content delivery networks (CDNs), while adapting to the specific requirements of each platform (LinkedIn, YouTube, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

  • Regularly update stakeholders, including producers and technical leads, on the status of streams, issues, and solutions during live events. Facilitate open lines of communication to ensure transparency and collaboration across teams

  • Assist with project and workflow documentation and special projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • An overall understanding of the live program production process is necessary and a strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution is critical

  • In-depth knowledge of network IP protocols (HTTP, RTMP, RTSP) and video conferencing technologies like BlueJeans

  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, managing simultaneous streams while maintaining a high standard of quality

  • Proven track record of delivering interactive stream experiences across multiple devices and platforms

  • Ability to create and manage streaming profiles and player embeds

  • Strong experience in video and audio encoding technologies

  • Expertise in live video delivery across multiple CDNs and ability to troubleshoot stream quality in real-time

  • Experience developing, automating, and optimizing live streaming workflows and processes

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams through high-pressure, fast-paced environments

  • Ability to make quick, effective decisions under tight deadlines

  • High level of computer literacy and technical aptitude

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide quick, effective solutions

  • Ensures high-quality, flawless execution in every aspect of technical production

  • Strong understanding of video and audio production, including camera operation, lighting, and sound design

  • Candidate must have a commitment to excellence in their field, staying current with emerging trends and technologies

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in live streaming or webcasting experience with a proven ability to deliver high-quality live video streams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Broadcast Engineering, Film, or a related field is preferred.
