About the Role

The Experimentation team provides cutting edge tooling and methodologies for all teams at Uber to make rapid decisions for their product iterations. Experimentation is an exciting domain that combines multiple disciplines of Software Engineering (Backend, Distributed Systems, Mobile, Web, Data Infra), Data Science, and Product Design. Every major launch across any of Uber's Rides, Delivery, Freight, and Uber For Business (U4B) teams leverages the Experimentation platform to reliably determine how new features impact Uber's key business metrics. Virtually all Eng, DS, and PMs at the company use our platform on a daily basis to launch, monitor, test, and make changes to Uber's ecosystem.

What You Will Do:

• Be responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of complex projects

• Build highly reliable and resilient features in our Go Backend microservices and Python analysis tools libraries

• Build & debug data pipelines which process billions of rows each day

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable and support the business

• Identify and fix bugs to improve the reliability of current systems

• Bring in your passionate self and positively impact the team around you

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field

• 2-years full-time Software Engineering work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Backend development and/or Distributed systems and/or Golang and/or Python programming languages

• At least five (5) years of Software Engineering Experience

• Industry experience in Feature Flagging systems

• Industry experience in Experimentation Systems

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
