Google Senior Director, Strategy and Operations, Core in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 17 years of experience in Management Consulting, Product Management, Engineering, or Operations roles within a technical organization.

  • 17 years of experience managing organizational change management or transformation initiatives.

  • 17 years of experience leading operational initiatives and core business planning.

  • Experience operating at organizations with cross-functional, product, technical or operational elements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with relevant products and technologies.

  • Experience in stakeholder management.

  • Global leadership experience.

  • Ability to translate technical issues into impact on product direction.

  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence, collaborate at all organizational levels, and with various cross-functional partners.

As part of Core’s Central Strategy and Operations team, the Senior Director of Strategy and Operations will report to the VP of Strategy, Operations, and Program management and will lead the Business Operations, Strategy Planning, Leadership and Organizational effectiveness, and Cross-Product Area Partnership teams that enable clarity, alignment, effectiveness, and efficiency across Core. As the leader of the StratOps team you will be a critical thought partner to the Core leadership team to build our long-term roadmap and strategy in close collaboration with key stakeholders across Core. You will partner with the VP of Strategy and Operations to drive the business cadence (planning and business reviews), track, analyze and measure key strategic business priorities and decisions, and drive operational and transformational change management.

In this role, you will lead teams working on complex, cross-cutting strategic and operational programs that are critical to Google and Core. This role provides a truly unique opportunity to learn about the broad portfolio of Core, interact with a wide spectrum of leaders across Core and Google, influence senior stakeholders, and actualize the success of Core’s most critical priorities. You will build frameworks to help inform and drive decisions around building Core’s strategy, OKR’s, and priorities. You'll be responsible for operationalizing critical processes working closely with all Core pillars to deliver on our portfolio of products and solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the broader Strategy and Operations leadership team to ensure that our business strategy remains focused on accurately articulating our customer impact, and drive operational effectiveness in the utilization of our resources.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $291,000-$419,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop strong and aligned strategic narrative across all parts of Core portfolio, synthesizing key priorities of Core pillars, and ensuring strategy and priority alignment across the organization.

  • Run a solid business cadence, driving regular business reviews with executive stakeholders, annual strategic planning, HC, and budget management.

  • Influence, align, and build trust with stakeholders at multiple levels. Partner with VPs, Directors, product and engineering leads to build and drive annual OKRs and product/solutions portfolio.

  • Lead cross-Core, cross-Google efforts that require significant planning and coordination, including influence with Product Areas. Advocate for right mix of immediate risk reduction and long-term opinionated solutions.

  • Partner with product teams to ensure we are scaling and executing on programs according to business objectives. Develop strategies in partnership with Core Leadership, with the goal of accelerating our broader mission and efforts.
