Discover Impactful Work:

The Hardware/Chemistry Test Engineer II is responsible for evaluating and testing products from the initial concept to post-production in the Product Development stage. The main objective is to evaluate and test products to meet specific specifications and standards. This role offers a distinctive chance to contribute to innovative technology that aims to enhance the lives of millions.

A Day in the Life:

  • Test, validate, and compare system-level interfaces to ensure performance meets specifications.

  • Identify and analyze questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in product performance.

  • Build new test procedures and cases for new functionality.

  • Recommend program improvements or revisions as necessary.

  • Establish benchmarks for product performance.

  • Assist manufacturing in developing FOQ protocols and train staff.

  • Review and refine product documentation.

  • Install, maintain, and use testing software programs.

  • Respond to technical support inquiries.

  • Build, track, align, and communicate test plans, results, and analysis.

  • Be accountable for the thoroughness and quality of your test results.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a relevant field or two years equivalent experience.

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a relevant field, or equivalent experience and/or training will be considered.

Experience

  • Academic training in chemistry and chemical Engineering is desirable.

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Applications, analytical instrument test methodology development, and automation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Follow specific test protocols and instructions.

  • Collaborate with other members of Test Engineering.

  • Demonstrate failure and error conditions to Development Engineers.

  • Define problems, collect data, and report valid conclusions.

  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $79,200.00–$105,600.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
