Amazon Finance Manager, Devices Finance in Sunnyvale, California
Description
Do you want to create and deliver innovative products for millions of customers around the world? In this role you will partner with the Product Management team in planning for and developing new Tablet devices. You'll lead financial planning and analysis, develop business cases for new initiatives, and collaborate across departments to ensure our products align with strategic goals. This role makes a direct impact on our product success and contribute to our company's growth in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead financial planning and analysis efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support the Product Management team in strategic decision-making and driving product profitability.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with the Product Management, Science, Lab126 and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive product development and go-to-market strategies. Serve as a trusted advisor for financial matters.
Business Case Development: Develop comprehensive business cases for new product initiatives, including detailed financial models, ROI analysis, and risk assessment to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Strategic Alignment: Ensure that all business cases align with corporate strategic goals and financial objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to validate assumptions and drive consensus on investment decisions.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor product performance. Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting insights and actionable recommendations.
Cost Management & Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the product development process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost management strategies and optimize resource allocation.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
