Our client, a leading global provider of products, services, and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions, is seeking a Pre/Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join their team. As a Pre/Post-Silicon Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, debugging, and testing firmware/software for ARM CPUs and DSPs in pre-silicon and post-silicon setups. You will work closely with members of various teams, including System Validation, Software, Firmware, and Hardware teams, to execute pre-silicon and post-silicon test plans effectively.

Job Title: Pre/Post-Silicon Validation Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Pay Range: $61 - $64 per hour

What’s the Job?

  • Develop, compile, run, and debug C/C++ bare-metal/firmware/software tests/applications targeting ARM CPUs/DSPs in pre-silicon (virtual, emulation, and FPGA platforms) and post-silicon (bring-up boards, non-form-factor) setups.

  • Perform unit testing and end-to-end testing of software/hardware features in pre-silicon and post-silicon setups, including running tests for performance and power characterization.

  • Understand hardware register specifications, memory maps, and develop/debug firmware, working closely with System Validation, Software, Firmware, and Hardware teams to complete the execution of pre-silicon/post-silicon test plans.

  • Create automation scripts and set up regression testing frameworks, leveraging experience in using software toolkits, code integration, and automation using Python.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including System Validation, Software, Firmware, and Hardware, to ensure successful execution of pre-silicon and post-silicon testing activities.

What’s Needed?

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for developing embedded software, firmware, and bare-metal tests/applications targeting ARM CPUs and DSPs.

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in developing code, bringing up, and debugging complex software/hardware setups involving multi-layered firmware/software stacks, interrupts, doorbells, and inter-process communication (IPC).

  • Familiarity with pre-silicon and post-silicon testing environments, including virtual platforms, emulation, FPGAs, and bring-up boards, for running tests, performance evaluation, and power characterization.

  • Experience in creating automation scripts, setting up regression testing, and using software toolkits, code integration, and automation with Python.

  • Knowledge of hardware register specifications, memory maps, and the ability to work closely with System Validation, Software, Firmware, and Hardware teams to execute pre-silicon and post-silicon test plans.
