Responsibilities
The Director of Social Services provides administrative and clinical leadership to the Social Services Clinicians in the departments. This person is responsible for the supervision of the Clinicians on each unit within the Inpatient Setting at SOH in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and standards of the facility and level of care requirements. This position ensures that the department maintains a safe and therapeutic approach at all times and provides a model for service excellence and successful department development.

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of social work or related mental health field; Master’s Degree required. LCSW required
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health field, with a minimum of one (1) year experience in advanced clinical/management practice
License: Appropriate state licensure in mental health.
Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of TJC, DOH, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
