Blanchard Machinery Rental Technician in Summerville, South Carolina

The Rent Ready Technician will inspect rental equipment for damages and safety issues prior to equipment leaving, and immediately upon return. They will prepare equipment for upcoming rentals by performing basic preventative maintenance on a variety of rental equipment as needed. Rent Ready Technicians are fast learners, self-motivated, and independent workers.

What you will do:

• Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.

• Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.

• Performs Quick Turn Inspections and prepare condition reports on Rental Equipment.

• Determines if rental return is “rent ready” or needs to have repairs done in the shop. Stage equipment in the appropriate area of the yard or shop.

• Communicates with Service Management to assist with the accurate estimates of repair costs of equipment.

• Assists with yard organization and housekeeping.

• Executes minor adjustments and or repairs apparent on return, or accurately assess and assign more major failures to Shop Foreman or Shop Mechanic.

• Organizes and stages rental equipment in accordance with branch workflow procedures.

• Tests equipment for proper operation, including fluid level checks and grease as needed.

• Communicates with the rental counter when the machine is ready in a timely manner.

• Ensures total customer service.

• Operates lifting devices.

• Prepares parts requisitions, timecards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and paperwork as assigned.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.

• Basic mechanical knowledge required.

• Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour call may be required.

• Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.

• Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting to preventive maintenance.

• Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.

• Requires basic working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.

• Ability to learn to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS)

• Familiarization of electronic cables, connections, and sensors.

• Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep

priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines.

• Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.

• High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills is required.

• Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.

• Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to deal with problems with a solutions oriented mindset.
